Mellanox InfiniBand Selected by Goethe University of Frankfurt to Accelerate Vast Range of Scientific Applications

40Gb/s InfiniBand with GPU and Application Offload Capabilities Provides University Scientists with Significant Application Runtime Improvements

(NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced that its industry-leading end-to-end 40Gb/s InfiniBand connectivity products, including ConnectX®-2 (LoM) adapters, IS5030 and IS5035 switches and cables, provide the high-performance server and storage networking for Goethe University’s Hessian high-performance computer (HHLR-GU) “LOEWE-CSC” supercomputer. With a theoretical peak performance of 599 TeraFLOPs, the InfiniBand-accelerated LOEWE-CSC will provide university scientists faster calculation and simulation results for a wide array of research, ranging from theoretical physics and chemistry to life sciences and computer science.
